Join us for a 2 hour webinar with Dr. Lindsey Godwin.

Buzzing with hundreds of questions per day, kids are natural-born question askers. But then something happens.  We stop asking. By the time we are adults, our daily question count dwindles from our childhood peak of over 300 questions to about 20. There are many reasons for this. We become rewarded for our answers, not our questions. We are told questions take up too much time and energy.  We think we have learned all there is to learn. Yet, in our ever-evolving world today, staying curious and asking new questions is just what we need to help us engage, create, and imagine better tomorrows.  This webinar will explore how we might keep our question-asking superpower alive within ourselves and our students and children. Leveraging Lindsey Godwin's inaugural book, “
How Do You Love a Question?” as a way to embrace curiosity and explore the magic of simply asking a question, we will explore question-asking practices for the classroom and beyond.

Objectives

  • Understand the dynamics that influence us to become tellers vs. askers; why do we tell more than we ask?
  • Identify different types of questions
  • Explore the elements that make questions more impactful
  • Experiment with question-generating practices for yourself and your students

Dr. Lindsey Godwin is a questionologist who joyfully stitches questions of possibility into the tapestry of her life. She holds the esteemed Robert P. Stiller Endowed Chair of Management at Champlain College, where she spearheads the David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry.
